Haute Couture In Its Finest Golden Form

As Paris Couture Week unfolded this week, the most beautiful examples of clothing were sent out onto the world fashion stage. Haute Couture, meaning “high dressmaking”, is fashion in its highest form and is in fact almost a different art form altogether.

We were particularly awestruck by Valentino’s Couture Collection, which was shown yesterday in Rome. The unconventional Haute Couture setting of the Piazza Mignanelli in the center of the city was an aptly chosen backdrop for this Roman inspired collection.  The models wore golden head bands and many of the garments featured golden embroidery. Full of exquisite pieces, the collection rightly received a standing ovation from its audience and the above were our favourite golden looks.  While the collection is clearly imbued with historical elements, we believe that the pieces are perfectly suited to the modern age, especially if accessorised with one of our golden phones!
