As many of you might be aware, the Rugby World Cup kicked off on Friday in London’s famous Twickenham Stadium with England defeating Fiji 35-11. An exciting weekend ensued in which Tonga beat Georgia, Ireland walked over Canada, Japan rather surprisingly beat South Africa and France beat Italy on Saturday. Sunday brought victories for Samoa, Wales and New Zealand and defeats for USA, Uruguay and Argentina respectively.
England’s team of rugby stars have a likely chance of winning the World Cup on home turf this year and supporters have come out in hoards on social media under the #WearTheRose campaign. Inspired by the England’s rugby team’s new shirt with the embroidered rose on the front, O2’s #WearTheRose campaign was launched to show the national team how much support they have and “make them giants”. Of course at Goldgenie, we’d like to go one step further and are wearing a 24k Gold preserved rose in our pockets to inspire the team to go for Gold and keep the World Cup trophy in the country this year!
We are looking forward to the England vs. Wales match on Saturday very much. With two of the best teams in the world being next door rivals, it is bound to be an exciting one!
