The Largest 24k Gold Plated Structure in the USA

This extraordinary pyramid structure stands proudly somewhat incongruously in the rural land of Wadsworth Illnois, USA.

Built by Jim Onan in the 1970s, as a result of his spiritual fascination with the power of pyramids and ancient Egyption history, the six storey 17,000 square foot Gold Pyramid house is the Onan’s family home.

The home, which sits on an island is surrounded by a giant moat, and is surrounded by a 50-foot statue of King Tut, a metal palm tree.  The building, which cost $1 Million to embellish in gold, is thought to be America’s largest 24k Gold plated structure and has attracted much attention, from tourists and celebrities.  Michael Jackson wanted to shoot a music video inside it and Mohammed Ali offered to buy the pyramid with the intention of turning it into a training centre.
