How the Customisation Process Works
Watch Customisation Prices
Customisation starts at £480 for the watch body and buckle, or £590 for the full watch including the strap or bracelet, in 24k gold, 18k gold, rose gold or platinum. Our platinum finish is applied as rhodium.
Diamond setting using VS1-grade natural diamonds or lab-grown stones is quoted separately. The final price depends on the watch, its condition, the finish chosen and the plating thickness.

FAQs
1. Can any watch be gold plated?
Most watches can. We work with stainless steel, brass, copper, silver, aluminium, titanium and chrome-plated parts, which covers the great majority of watch cases and bracelets. We assess each piece from photographs before quoting.
2. Will gold plating damage my watch?
No. Plating is a surface process applied to the case and bracelet. Movements are not affected. We confirm what can and cannot be treated before any work begins.
3. How thick is the plating on a watch?
Our standard finish is 5 microns, and we can plate up to 10 microns. For a watch worn daily we usually recommend towards the upper end, because the case and bracelet are in constant contact with skin and clothing.
4. Can you restore a watch whose plating has worn through?
Yes. We strip the remaining plating, prepare the surface beneath and replate — usually to a heavier gold deposit than the original.
5. What finishes can I choose?
24k gold, 18k gold, rose gold and platinum, in mirror, brushed, satin or antique surface finishes. Our platinum finish is applied as rhodium.
6. Can you customise an Apple Watch?
Yes. We customise Apple Watch cases in 24k gold, rose gold and platinum, and can pair them with exotic straps.
7. How long does watch customisation take?
Most projects are completed within 7 working days. We confirm the timescale in your quotation.
8. What warranty applies?
Customisation carried out on your own watch carries a three-year Goldgenie warranty, subject to applicable warranty terms and normal exclusions. Watches purchased from Goldgenie carry a lifetime warranty.
9. How much does it cost?

10. Which watch brands do you work on?
Every major maker — Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Audemars Piguet, Tudor, Longines and Seiko among them — along with Apple Watch and bespoke commissions. Send photographs and we will confirm what is possible.
11. Do you set diamonds?
Yes. We offer precision diamond setting using VS1-grade natural diamonds or lab-grown stones. This is quoted separately from the plating finish.
12. How do I get my watch to you?
Three ways. We operate a global insured DHL pick-up service and will arrange collection from your address anywhere in the world. If you are in the UK you can post the watch to us, or drop it in person at our London service office in Enfield. Outside the UK and the UAE, insured DHL collection and return are included in the agreed quotation.
