The prestigious Shaw Theatre held a star studded evening of elegance on Saturday 5th December by hosting Miss Caribbean UK. This event glamourous event positively promotes all of the different Caribbean countries united under one umbrella. The event uses beauty pageantry to promote, unify, inspire, educate, entertain and celebrate the historical and cultural impact of the Caribbean within the United Kingdom.
Miss Caribbean UK adds to the richness in diversity offered in the UK, as it attracts Caribbeans and non-Caribbeans alike, keen to enjoy the tropical mix of colour, fashion, dance, gastronomy, music and culture.
The crowned winner was Miss Amy Harris-Willock, 28 representing Antigua, was crowned the 2nd Miss Caribbean UK. The judges felt that that she personified all the traits as a positive role model and had a passion for life.
The runners up were as follows:
1st Runner up – Miss Selina Chippy, 29 Representing Jamaica
2nd Runner up – Miss Nicole Renwick, 21 representing Trinidad and Tobago

One of the prizes given to the winner was a Goldgenie 24K rose as a gesture of support for the hard work and dedication the organisation are involved in to positively promote the unity of the Caribbean within the UK.
