How it works
- Request a quote. Send us details and photographs of your item, and tell us which finish you want.
- We assess and quote. Price depends on the item's size, its base material, its existing finish, the surface preparation needed, complexity, your chosen finish, quantity, and collection and delivery. Our minimum project charge is £250.
- Send us your item. If you are outside the UK and UAE, complimentary insured DHL collection is included in your quotation. Worldwide insured collection is available through our Dubai headquarters and our UK service centre. We can also source an item on your behalf.
- We plate your item. Preparation, plating and inspection in our own workshop. Turnaround depends on the item, and is typically around seven days.
- Insured return. Your item is returned by insured worldwide delivery, included in the agreed quotation.

What can be gold plated?
We plate stainless steel, brass, copper, silver, aluminium, titanium and chrome-plated
parts. Plastic components require a specialist assessment — send us a photograph and we
will confirm what is possible.
How much does gold plating cost?
Our minimum project charge is £250. Beyond that, every project is individually quoted,
because price depends on the item's size, base material, existing finish, the surface preparation required, complexity, chosen finish, quantity, and collection and delivery.
Can you plate my iPhone?
Yes. Customising your own iPhone in 24k gold, rose gold or platinum is £1,900 for the iPhone 18, £1,600 for the iPhone 17 and £1,400 for the iPhone 16. That price is all-in it includes insured pick-up, insured return delivery and the three-year service warranty.
What warranty do you offer?
Gold plating and customisation carried out on your own item carries a three-year Goldgenie warranty, subject to applicable warranty terms and normal exclusions. Products purchased from Goldgenie carry a lifetime warranty.
How long does gold plating take?
Turnaround depends on the item its size, its condition and the preparation needed but most projects are completed in around seven days. We confirm the timescale in your quotation.
Which finishes do you offer?
24k gold, 18k gold, rose gold and platinum. Our platinum finish is applied as rhodium. Bespoke variations are available on request.
How thick is the plating?
For applicable projects, heavy-duty gold plating typically starts at 2 microns. The right specification depends on the item and how it will be used, and we confirm it in
your quotation.
